PipeSnug for the New Build Housing Sector
The new Approved Building Regulations Part L primarily addresses energy efficiency and air tightness in buildings and sets the minimum standard for air permeability in new homes.
PipeSnug meets the new Part L building requirements, which now requires pipe seals and grommets to be used around pipework. PipeSnug is the only all-in-one solution which meets Part L’s requirement to seal around pipework inside and out, without the need for sealant, mortar or expensive air sealing tape.
Housebuilders must also submit photographic evidence of compliance to its Local Building Control body and energy assessors, and PipeSnug is a very simple and effective way of supplying this evidence.
How we helped the Daly Group
The Daly Group is currently working on Cringleford Heights, a semi-rural Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ development on the outskirts of Norwich. It is a five-year project to sustainably build over 600 high-quality three to four-bedroom homes.
As part of their remit, the Daly Group is installing Ideal Boilers into each home, along with FlueSnug, both inside and out. Compliance is important to the Daly Group as it adheres to very high standards and offers a two-year warranty to its customers. Every installation must also reach the standard required to meet the NHBC 10 Year Warranty. FlueSnug achieves all of these standards, improves energy efficiency and has saved Daly Group almost £20 per boiler – a total saving of nearly £12,000.
